HM Queen Elizabeth II

A message of tribute from chair of the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board, The Rt Hon Paul Burstow.

Chair of the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board, The Rt Hon Paul Burstow said:

“On behalf of the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board, we are deeply saddened at the passing of Her Majesty the Queen and extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the Royal Family. They are in our thoughts at this difficult and painful time.

“As we reflect on the Queen’s life-long commitment to public service, we recall her connections to the NHS in Hertfordshire and west Essex. Queen Elizabeth II had links to our area which go back to the early years of her reign.  Her Majesty opened the QEII Hospital named in her honour in Welwyn Garden City in 1963, the country’s first general hospital to be built after the Second World War, and more recently visited the Diamond Jubilee Maternity Unit at Lister Hospital in Stevenage in 2012.  Her loss will be felt profoundly across the country.”
