It is Guy Fawkes night on Saturday (5 November) and it is important for us all to prepare so that we can enjoy the occasion safely.

We’d always recommend that you attend a professionally organised firework display, but whether you’re attending or hosting an event with any fireworks, bonfires or similar, it’s really important to take care and ensure that youngsters are properly supervised.

The East of England Ambulance Service has written some useful guidance to help you enjoy yourself and avoid any unnecessary injuries.

Make sure you know what to do if an accident does occur, whether that is applying basic first aid yourself, consulting 111 online for less serious injuries or calling 999 where it is life-threatening.
