This website is run by Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below. 

Non-accessible content 

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons. 

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations 

  • Images on some pages do not always have suitable image descriptions. Users of assistive technologies may not have access to information conveyed in images. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content). 

  • Some pages have poor colour contrast. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.1 (Use of Colour). 

  • Some pages have duplicate titles. This may make it difficult for users to orient themselves and find the right content. This fails WCAG 2.4.2 success criterion (Page Titled). 

  • The language is missing within the settings of some of the PDF documents. This fails WCAG 3.1.1 Language of Page 

  • Some content has tables which do not have correctly marked up headers. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships: 

  • Some pages cannot be found through more than one type of navigation. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.5 (Multiple Ways). 

  • Many documents are in less accessible formats, for example PDF. Non-HTML documents published on or after 23 September 2018 must have an accessible format. 

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations 

PDFs and other documents 

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix annual reports of the former CCGs.  

We are working on introducing new processes and training so new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

What we are doing to improve accessibility 

Following the audit conducted by the Communications and Engagement Team in October 2023, departments are urgently fixing content which fails to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard and making older PDFs accessible. 

Preparation of this accessibility statement 

This statement was prepared on 31 October 2023. It was last reviewed on 31 Ocotber2023. 

This website was last tested on 3 October 2023. 

A test was carried out by Skilltide. The most viewed pages were tested using automated testing tools by our website team. A further audit of the website was carried out to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. PDF and other documents are manually tested by the Communications and Engagement Team.
